Abstract Reactive power dispatch based on static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) and photovoltaic (PV) sources in coordination with reconfiguration strategy is vital task to ensure reliable operation of modern radial distribution (RD) systems. This paper introduces a novel tree seed algorithm (TSA) improve the performance RD A variant TSA intelligent flexible mechanism search proposed create an interactive equilibrium between exploration exploitation during process global solution. Two objective functions, total loss margin reserve security are optimized under normal condition critical load growth. To obtain system situations, reactive STATCOM devices managed stage find best combination sectionalizing switches tie be operated.
